I'd go further. You /cannot/ combine indexes. You cannot merge search/crawling
algorithms. You can hardly even merge datacentres that run different
infrastructures (Microsoft Bob 2003 and FreeBSD). It's insane. This just leads
to more confusion. You can't have 9 women deliver a baby in one month.

I wonder how the OOXML fiasco has cost them (more expenses to come.. due to
antitrust fines and harm to image).
I wonder if, all in all, Microsoft operates at a loss. It pulls money from its
savings nowadays and it hides losing units[1], which is pretty much all of
them except 1 or 2 (guess which one/s).

[1] The more bizarre things they were caught doing, a prudent observer might be
calling 'massaging' or cooking the books, but everyone apparently does that.
