Sorry for replying to my own post, but I also thought I'd mention that I
once had a "security" interview after a trip to the communist block
which I hadn't had approved before I went. It was quite long, very
formulaic, and there is no doubt a record of it somewhere.
All of this, however, has nothing to do with the Government trying to
stretch the Official Secrets Act to cover memoires.
