What's most amazing is that this is over a period of just 12 months.
I'd also point out that this period has seen the growth of the News
postings and the digest - I started the digest on, I think, the 3rd Sep
06 (must check that). The whole flavour of cola has shifted
significantly in that time, linux adoption has increased massively, with
the biggest gains being in devices (satnav, dvr, mobile, web tablet,
olpc etc.), followed by servers of all kinds, but then we also have some
new interesting areas, like the PS3 console designed from the outset to
run linux, and then the amazingly successful Ubuntu. The impact of the
liveCD should also not be underestimated.
