You seem to be forgetting that installing a Linux distribution can nowadays be
as trivial as installing Acrobat Reader in Windows XP and then choosing login
username and password.

Mind you, Lenovo certifies some of its laptops for Fedora, Ubuntu, and SUSE
Linux (SLED 10). This means that they have tested to ensure that everything
will work out of the box given a CD-ROM of one of these ditributions (at the
very least). If you can point and click, you'll soon get your PC in a state
that is identical to that in which it arrives from OEM.

The OEMs do not configure your Web cam for you.

The OEMs do not set up your Internet connection.
