There's a lot more. Basically, Microsoft isn't as good for the Americans as
people wish to believe. Not much money ends up being contributed to the
nation. In fact, one could argues that Microsoft sucks money out of taxpayers
when they (over)charge governments. It's one of those things one can do with a
monopoly.
As for the BBC, it's not a case of overpricing. It's pure and simple. It's
corruption.
