Don't expect giant steps in the visible parts of Debian on each release, too
many jernos seem only interested in a pretty screen, probably the least
important part of any distro, that just isn't what is important, splash
screens only last three seconds and desktop backgrounds are invisible once
you open an application. But under the hood changes made that are very
important, extending capabilities, improvements for different
architectures, stream lining libs, many areas that are always needing
further improvements or changes relevant to the computers of the day.

As a team I have never seen a team as well organised as Debian. It isn't
easy to build up to the top, who ever you are and what ever your
experience, you only get to the top of the team when you have proven
yourself capable at the lower levels. Then those that shine can gradually
work their way up. This is an exceptionally good process and means that at
all times we have proven skilled people running the Debian projects.
