and that is definitely in the league of cost > hardware.
Also, don't forget that comparison: $299 for a OSS supplied machine vs
$2000+ for a proprietary, CSS supplied machine; the cost of the hardware was
$299 (for both), the cost for the software of OSS was $0, for CSS was
~$2000. For the CSS, proprietary model, Gates is perfectly right.
