Microsoft's mixed scorecard

| Microsoft turns 31 this year, and it's showing signs of age.

| The Redmond, Wash.-based company remains the largest software
company in
| the world and one of the two or three most influential in the
technology

moved as
| rapidly into search or music as smaller competitors.
That's a pretty far reach for a negative, roy boy! What open source
music distributors or search sites are there? LOL!!!

music music? Internet Archive at www.archive.org has plenty of free (as
in beer) live music in FLAC and SHN formats. I'm having a hard time
keeping up with the sheer volume that piles in there on a daily basis.
From the site:

etree.org is a community committed to providing the highest quality live
concerts in a lossless, downloadable format. The Internet Archive has
teamed up with etree.org to preserve and archive as many live concerts
as possible for current and future generations to enjoy. All music in
this Collection is from trade-friendly artists and is strictly
noncommercial, both for access here and for any further distribution.
Artists' commercial releases are off-limits. This collection is
maintained by the etree.org community.

Time to upgrade my music server (again!)
p.s.: <plug>gimme a shout if you want an etree demo CDA. I'll send it
for the cost of the media + postage. I'll also consider requests for
entire gigs, again for just the cost of media + postage. </plug>
