Here in the UK you can get an eSys computer with Linux for under GBP 150
(approximately $250 including VAT). The are several vendors that import
eSys hardware, which apparently comes from India. I am not sure if hard-
ware is from Singapore, but it's somewhere in Asia.

The cost of a Windows licence alone is about 50% of the price of the ma-
chine. Although eSys systems can also be sold with Windows, the offers
clearly show the advantage of sticking with Linux, price-wise, let alone
functionality-wise (which to many prospective buyers is still an unknown.
