Microsoft Windows Door Hinge? No, it turns out

That's the word today from Network World's Paul McNamara, who tried out
the new Google Patent Search last week and discovered, much to his
surprise, that Microsoft had been assigned a patent in 1998 for a "butt
hinge with integrally formed butt straps."
Before your mind goes places you don't want it to go, a butt hinge is a
"hinge composed of two plates attached to abutting surfaces of a door
and door jamb and joined by a pin," according to this definition.
