I am betting it wouldn't make any difference.

And do you know why? Because I have come to deliver a little reality about a
sacred cow to this community.

Of course I aid for the DVD, they don't grow on trees.

I drew a comparison between what SuSE Live DVD can do compared to the runt
of the litter, Slax 5.07b which tops out at 190 megabytes and yet can do so
much more than your 1.6 gigabyte Live DVD.

Are you telling me that SuSE Live DVD always mount your HDs for you?

Are you telling me SuSE Live DVD can play XVid avis right out of the gate?

Are you telling me SuSE Live DVD is always able to pick up a lease from your
dhcp server?

by the OEM to /necessary/ run that one O/S you aim for. There are vendors
that will give you SuSE 10.1 preinstalled.

Now why would I want that?

Yes, I have heard that.

My experience says otherwise.

I am still trying to figure out why SuSE throttled back the Centrino 1.6 GHz
CPU to 600 MHz on the IBM R40 laptop I was attempting to install.

These weren't CDs - these were House MD avi files from the mounted HD.

Is there anybody on this newsgroup who can explain why the appropriate xvid
codec is not loaded onto the SuSE Live install?

Is there anybody on this newsgroup who can explain why SuSE Live session
doesn't mount system HDs for the Luser?

Just curious.
